A little down today

I use this site as a diary of sorts. I know alot of people don't read it (thank GF for the support) but it helps me get rid of frustrations and vent a little....ok, sometimes a lot. : )

I'm having a hard time this morning (well not JUST this morning) with being a stepmom. Let me start this off by saying that I have a great stepson as far as attitude wise. Here's my dilema, John, the stepson, is 25, will be 26 in December and he still lives with us. He works a job he's been at for over 8 years that is basically handyman work. Pays nothing. He DOES pay all of his bills, except his cell phone bill which we pay, and he started paying us "rent" last month. He is one class away from getting his architecture degree. ONE CLASS...and he's pussyfooting around with THAT. The boy has NO motivation whatsoever....he doesn't bathe unless we tell him too and I have to tell you. I'm not use to living this way. Darryl and I just got married April 4th and I thought we'd have the house to ourselves some...we NEVER do...he's always here...he has NO friends...no social life and I"m just at my wits end as how to handle this. It's starting to affect me and my marriage now. Darryl says he understands and agrees with me that he should be out of here, learning about real life on his own, but yet he does NOTHING about it. I'm just tired of arguing about it...I'm tired of knowing that he lives in filth..my son is NOT that way at all and he's embarassed by it. As I am....I just need to have some girl talk time.

I just called my friend and she's going to meet me at the Cracker Barrel to talk this over. Thank goodness for friends.
